Santa’s New Suit Assignment

The students are coming home with their assignment today.  I explained it to them thoroughly.  We needed to cross off the due date of December 10th and change it to December 12th.

I showed them examples from the previous years to give them some creative ideas!

The JLT came and talked to the kids about Candy Cane Sales and the Santa Store Collection both starting this Monday, December 5th.  Candy Canes will cost a $1 and they can buy them for themselves or send them to a friend.  All proceeds will be donated to the Z99 Radiothon happening March.

santa-shop

The Santa Toy Collection will happen once again this year. The JLT is also in charge of this.  We are collecting items for Imperial School.  You are welcome to drop things off between December 5th to December 9th.  We would prefer you putting things in boxes ahead of time if possible.  Either way, please drop off in the front foyer hallway.  They are primarily looking for used games and toys (for all ages), Christmas decorative items, gifts that can be given to adult family members like wallets, mugs, household items, purses, jewellery, tools, etc. The kids at Imperial try to shop for everyone in their families so finding something for adults is sometimes limited. The kids seem to enjoy any type of toys from stuffed to action figures to building stuff. Again, thanks so much for any donations.

food-drive

We would also like to bring awareness to our upcoming food drive. After an ACT presentation, many activities inspired our student body to do more for our community and those in need.  To begin our goal, we will be holding a food drive from 7th – 21st of December.   During these days we invite food donations to be brought to our school to help families in need of food and nutrition.  A food bank bin will be displayed in front of the office and all your donations can go in there.  We ask that the food be not expired and all donations will go straight to the Food Bank and to families in need.  We are also accepting donations at the Christmas concert.  All donations will be dropped off at the food bank on December 21st. Here are some suggestions:

●            Canned food (beans, corn, soup, etc.)
●            Cereal (other whole grain items)
●            Canned meats
●            Pasta (canned or dry) and pasta sauce We look forward to your kind donations!
